Support Letter for Marsha Monestersky

We don’t know where to go and our own tribe does not help us. There is no
where else for us to go. The only place we can stay is in Big Mountain. I,
Ruth Benally am a Medicine Woman and I pray to the mountains, hills, trees,
plants where I live. There are many sacred sites where I pray and do my
ceremonies. Just like the Hopi pray, I am the same. I do my ceremonies. I
want to continue to do this and not be distrubed. It has to be where I live
in Big Mountain because I know the land and the land knows me.

If we have to continue without Marsha, who will be like her to give the news
to the whole world. There is no one else that can do this. She is the only
one that has worked doing this in all the years she has been here. But we do
know if she continues to work for us we will win. All this time she has been
here for us. There is no one else.

We would like to continue the computer work and internet and we do not want
it to be stopped. This past summer the Hopi Tribe said no more Sun Dance in
Big Mountain but even though the Hopi Tribe says no we did it anyway. After
our meeting with the Hopi Tribe that time they fed us and we ate with them.
That is the way it should be but we should not have to fight so hard for
everything we believe in. But we are determined to remain on our land and in
order for us to do this we want Marsha to continue to remain here and help us.

Please let Marsha Monestersky stay. This is what we want.

Yours sincerely,

Irene Benally
